- As we have seen that the basic for ABC classification was the consumption value of the items. But the basis of the XYZ- classification is the closing Inventory value of the items.
- X denotes Items with high inventory value
Y denotes Items with moderate inventory value
Z denotes Items with low inventory value - This analysis helps us in identifying the items which are being stocked extensively.
